Recently, an interesting rumour appeared on the Internet – Microsoft may soon release a proprietary accessory for Apple iPad. A hint to this was spotted on the documentation download page related to lithium batteries.
According to available data, a description of the mysterious device called iPad Touch Cover (Model 1719) appeared on the Microsoft website. At this point, not a lot of details about this gadget are known. The only two things we know about the Microsoft keyboard are the following: it will have a built-in battery and connect to iPad via Bluetooth.
There is an assumption that the phrase Touch Cover in the name of the keyboard indicates that the new Microsoft accessory may be similar to the keyboard Surface Touch Cover made for the Microsoft’s own tablet. That keyboard had one distinctive feature – it was very thin (only 3mm).
It’s worth noting that iPad Touch Cover won’t be the first keyboard from Microsoft, compatible with Apple tablets. Earlier, the Redmond tech giant already released Universal Mobile Keyboard which can also be connected to iPad.
