Redmi Watch 2 Lite Review: A Great Smartwatch for the Price

Smartwatches are a new way to check the time. They’re also a great way to monitor your health and fitness levels. While you might have been hesitant about buying one because of the price tag, Xiaomi has developed their latest smartwatch with a budget in mind. It’s called the Redmi Watch 2 Lite and it’s perfect for those who want a high-quality smartwatch without shelling out too much money! Here are some features that make this watch stand out from other brands.

The Redmi Watch 2 Lite Specs

  • 1.6-inch AMOLED display
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor
  • Resolution: 320*360
  • Waterproof: 5ATM
  • Bluetooth
  • 225mAh battery with automatic battery regeneration

The watch comes with a notch, similar to the one found on the Apple Watch series 3. It’s not as wide as that on the 3, but the watch has enough space for all the sensors and the display.

The Design of the Watch

Xiaomi calls it the “budget smartwatch” and it’s looking pretty good. The smartwatch is around the same size as the original Mi Band 2 but with a thinner and lighter design. You’ll definitely want a soft-brushed band on the smartwatch. The watch comes with two silicone bands in three different colors (black, blue, and beige) for you to choose from.

The design is quite unique and the brushed back gives the smartwatch a high-end look. The smartwatch has a 225mAh battery and it will give you up to three days of power (around 300 hours of standby time). It also has an in-built mic, alarm, and vibrating alert button.

The Features of the Watch

Besides telling the time and giving you the option to choose from 30 different watch faces, the screen of the watch has a battery level indicator. Not a lot of people know that one of the signs of low battery is the screen turning blue, but you can tell the difference even if the time is set at a couple hours ago.

To make the screen brighter, you can increase the sensitivity of the front light. Xiaomi claims that it will help increase the battery life, but I personally wouldn’t use it all the time, because it seems to drain the battery so quickly.

Conclusion

In the age of smartwatches, it’s difficult to make them genuinely affordable. A smartwatch is a mini computer, so it requires a lot of components. Price tags usually run into the hundreds of dollars. You’re getting a nice watch and all of its smart features at a fraction of the price of other smartwatches. After all, this is not a clunky or unreliable smartwatch.
