Mobile device fans have something to be very excited about – the company Qualcomm is going to introduce a new mobile processor at CES 2017. The information comes from the company’s official Twitter account. The upcoming chipset Snapdragon 835 will be the most powerful in its category.
The new processor has many advantages, compared to previous models. Already announced in November, Snapdragon 835 is based on Samsung’s own 10-nanometer FinFET technology. Other premium products from Qualcomm, like Snapdragon 820 or 821, featured 14-nanometer technology, so the new processor will obviously take less space (30% less). Besides, Snapdragon 835 is more efficient – the energy consumption will decrease by 40%.
The maximum clock speed of Snapdragon 835 is 2.2 GHz. The octa-core processor is complemented with Adreno 540 graphic processor, which is 30% more productive than Adreno 530, features in older models. As a result, the chipset itself has more productivity than its predecessors. Apart from that, Snapdragon 835 supports Quick Charge 4.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 is most likely to be features in some premium, upcoming smartphones, like Samsung Galaxy S8, LG G6 and Xiaomi Mi6. More details will be available after the opening of CES 2017 on January 5th.
