The tablet market isn’t as successful and profitable as it used to be. The sales are falling every year and even Apple is suffering from decreasing popularity of tablets. The company has already reduced orders for iPad components. Despite that, Apple, the main contender on this market, doesn’t seem to stop making iPads. Actually, it’s the opposite – according to a report from 9to5Mac, the company will unveil 3 new iPads in Q2 of 2017.
One of these 3 devices will be updated versions of current iPads. For example, 12.9-inch tablet will be the second generation of current 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Another tablet will have a 9.7-inch display and is likely to be low-cost, affordable solution. The most notable device among all three is the one with 10.5-inch screen. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, it will be a premium, high-end model with a few innovative, cosmetic changes – a display on the whole front side and design without a bezel.
New releases will definitely help Apple on the market but the shipment decrease is likely to continue in 2017. Nevertheless, it won’t be as drastic as in 2016 – the 10.5 iPad will probably have demand from businesses and enterprises, while the affordable 9.5-inch model is likely to find more popularity among regular users.
