One of the highlights during WWDC 2017 was new Apple Mac devices. Apart from the updated macOS High Sierra OS, Apple finally presented a completely new iMac line-up. The main feature of new all-in-ones was redesigned displays. They became 43% brighter and support a billion colours, which brings displaying digital content on a new level.
Other than that, new iMac received Intel Core Kaby Lake processors contributing to better performance. In addition, the 21.5-inch version (4K resolution) now has 32GB RAM, while the version with a 27-inch screen (5K resolution) got 64GB. As for the latter, they will also use the proprietary Fusion Drive technology, which allows you to combine a conventional HDD and SSD solid-state drive into a single volume.
Each iMac configuration made a big leap in terms of graphics. For example, the 21.5-inch version is equipped with an Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640 graphics card which is 80% faster than the previous model.
Specifically for professional users of iMac, Apple introduced iMac Pro which comes out a little later. It has a completely new cooling system, 8-, 10- or 18-core Xeon processor, 128GB of EEC memory and 18GB of video memory.
The prices for new iMac start from the mark of $1 099 – for the 21.5-inch basic version – and finish at $1 799 for the 5K 27-inch iMac. At the same time, the price for iMac Pro with a 5K-screen and eight-core processor will be about $ 4 999.
In addition to iMac, Apple introduced new MacBook and MacBook Pro that received previously promised Intel Core Kaby Lake processors of the seventh generation. Thanks to this, the devices work almost 50% faster. The version of the MacBook Pro with a 15-inch screen also sports improved graphics. The prices for MacBook range from $1 299 to $2 399.
