Best Selling Smartphones: iPhone and Samsung Galaxy

Last week, we learned that iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 had become the best selling smartphones. Actually, this is only one of many accomplishments from Apple. Despite the results from iPhone 7 / 8, another model can be officially called the most popular smartphone of the previous year – iPhone 6s.

According to HIS Market, iPhone 6s became the most shipped smartphone of 2016. Although it was released 1.5 years ago, customers still love it. Speaking of the numbers, Apple shipped 65 million items of this model which is 20% more than iPhone 7. Interestingly, the third and fourth positions on the list were taken by Apple smartphones as well: iPhone 7 Plus and 6s Plus.

It’s also worth mentioning that iPhone 6s was much more popular than the Samsung flagship smartphone, Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge. The latter had a bigger aggregate demand and took the fifth position with 25 million shipped items. Another interesting tendency is the absence of Huawei devices on the list. The company has a huge demand in the world but apparently, it comes from diversity of the line-up, rather than from popularity of particular models.

Once again, Apple proves that it can maintain the demand not only on new iPhones but also on the older models. iPhone 6s is the best proof of that.
