Over time, features appearing in expensive flagship smartphones become available in the middle price segment. This happens due to the rapid development of mobile processors which allow companies to incorporate more functions for less money. Recently, Qualcomm introduced new Snapdragon 660 and Snapdragon 630. Later, we will see these processors in many new products of the middle-end segment. And most importantly, they are quite functional considering their value.
These eight-core chipsets are specifically created for such smartphone as HTC Desire, Xiaomi Redmi Note, and so on. But what will these processors bring to the middle-end segment of the smartphone market? Here is a brief review of possible novelties:
- LTE-A support with a download speed of up to 600 Mbps;
- Spectra 160 image processor which will allow smartphone makers to fit their device not only with dual cameras but also the ability to work with 24-megapixel images and 4K video at 30fps. Besides, such smartphones will have more advanced digital zoom and faster autofocus;
- Qualcomm provides access to SDK, which improves face and object recognition along with smart video stabilization;
- Quick Charge 4.0 support will charge batteries for the half of their full capacity in just 15 minutes. The chipsets will be compatible with Bluetooth 5 and USB Type-C as well.
It turns out that the new middle-end smartphones in 2017 will be faster in operation, faster in charging and data transfer, and they will be able to please their owners with advanced imagery technologies. Evidently, the middle-end segment is becoming more attractive.
