The industry of electric cars is seriously thriving. In the past few years, we’ve seen numerous vehicles and most of them are oriented towards regular people. But there are some that are worth special attention for their extreme luxury. One of them has just been introduced at Monterey Car Week – it’s Mercedez-Maybach 6 Cabriolet.
As you may know, Maybach is a sub-brand of Mercedez-Benz specialising in luxurious cars. That’s why it comes as no surprise that the first Maybach electric car is far away from others in terms of its looks. This convertible vehicle is 6m long and presents a fine combination a retro style from 1930s with a touch of modern technologies.
Despite the enormous size, the car is quite agile. It produces 750bhp and gets from 0 to 100kmh in 4 seconds. The four-wheel drive convertible has four compact synchronous electric motors, responsible for producing all this power. On one charge, the car can travel 500km. The creators also claim that the battery supports fast charging technology – in order to drive for 100km, you’ll need just 5 minutes of charging.
The interior lives up to the futuristic image of this car. Everything on the dashboard is touch-sensitive, voice assistants tell the driver about the location, time, road situation, and important information is projected onto the windscreen. The pulsating blue wires in the front of the body indicate power consumption.
So far, the price and release date haven’t been revealed yet but we can’t expect it to come out soon. Still, it’s definitely a nice piece of technological art.
