After the announcement of Samsung Fold, Huawei demonstrated their version of a foldable smartphone. During a big presentation event in Barcelona, the Chinese company unveiled several devices but the highlight was Mate X – the first Huawei foldable smartphone.

Interestingly, it’s possible to operate the smartphone from either side. But when it’s unfolded, it seamlessly turns into an 8-inch tablet. Plus, on the back there is a special, slightly thick part with all the software inside and triple camera.
Furthermore, there is another notable feature – Mate X is the fastest foldable smartphone and it supports 5G. The maximum download speed reaches up to 4.6 Gbps. As for other specs, Mate X is powered by a Kirin 980 processor, has 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. It also has two batteries with total capacity of 4500mAh. Huawei Mate X will be available for purchase in the middle of this year for $2600.
