Galaxy S8 Smartphone without Headphone Jack

The current trend on the smartphone market is the absence of 3.5mm headphone jack. Started by iPhone 7, this trend has already spread to other companies. But what about Apple’s main competitor, Samsung? The company is still recovering from all the mess, caused by Galaxy Note 7. However, they put big hopes on their next flagship smartphone, Galaxy S8. And it appears that this one is also going with the trend.

According to the publisher Sammobile, Samsung Galaxy S8 won’t be fitted with a headphone jack as well. This will allow the company to make smartphones thinner. The space, that’s been taken by the jack before, will probably be used for a bigger battery or another dynamic. The latter option sounds convincing, considering Samsung has acquired the audio electronics company Harman. Apparently, it will be responsible for the sound in S8.

With the new flagman, Samsung users will have the situation as iPhone users – they will have to use adapters to connect headphones to the phone. Samsung is relying on their USB Type-C port for the sound. Another option is, obviously, wireless connection via Bluetooth.

There’s still no exact information about specifications of Galaxy S8 and S8 Edge. Both smartphones are expected to be introduced at the MWC 2017 fair in February.
