The biggest mobile service providers in China (and in the world), China Mobile, is planning to start the commercial introduction of 5G wireless network around 2020. The information was shared by Chinese press with a reference to the president of the company, Li Yue.
3 years ago the provider finished the development of a new wireless connection system. During 2016, China Mobile was testing 5G and creating devices for it. In the next 2 years the testing, research and development will continue and in 2020 5G will be unveiled to the world for commercial usage. By 2020, the company plans to build around 10.000 5G stations to cover the whole country with the new wireless network.
The fifth-generation mobile network will contribute to much faster data transferring – the speed will be increased up to 1GB per second, which is 20-50 times more than 4G. Currently, China Mobile is building 5G sites (20 of them are planned for 2018) and developing 5G-compatible mobile devices in cooperation with such big companies, as Huawei and ZTE. According to China Mobile representatives, 5G is going to revolutionize wireless connection. Li Yue added that “if 4G changed the life, 5g will change the whole society”.
