Why Apple Watch is Success

Apple is still quite reluctant about sharing sales numbers of Apple Watch. The best that company told us was the fact that Q4 2016 was the most successful quarter for Apple Watch on the wearable market. But what are the reasons? While Apple doesn’t reveal anything, we can address to analysts from IDC.

According to their estimations, Apple was able to ship 4.6 million smartwatches in Q4 2016. That’s not bad but still there is no improvement compared to the same period in 2015 when the number was 4.1 million. Why do people call it a success then? Because Apple took 13.6% of the wearable market. This segment is highly competitive not only with smartwatches but simple and affordable fitness trackers. That’s why the third place of Apple here is viewed as an impressive accomplishment.

The fact that the Cupertino company remains a contender on this field is very optimistic. The growth from 2015 wasn’t so big but the development continues in the right direction. By the way, the first two places on the list were taken by FitBit and Xiaomi. As for Apple, these numbers should inspire its engineers to make more smartwatches with innovative features and affordable price.
