Amazon decided to upgrade its deliveries by launching an interesting service called Key – the couriers will be able to open your door and enter your house to deliver a package. In order to work, the service still needs additional improvements and one of them is a new Amazon smart home camera called Cloud Cam.
The camera pairs with a smart lock, so that Amazon decides itself when to open the door for a delivery. However, the Cloud Cam can be used as a separate device considering it’s quite functional. Like many other Amazon products, the Cloud Cam is integrated with Alexa, so the camera can be controlled with voice commands.

As for other characteristics, the camera records Full HD 1080p video and transmits the footage to a smartphone app. It’s also equipped with night vision, a built-in microphone and a speaker for two-way conversations, and motion detectors alerting the users if anything suspicious is happening and a recording a small video for a later review.
Another helpful feature is computer vision. This feature isn’t exactly ready but it sounds promising. Because many clips will be uploaded to the cloud for a review, the cloud itself will “remember” all the things inside your house and stop reacting to obvious motions like a dog, cat or just a sliding door.
