All fans of James Bond movies are familiar with Aston Martin – a British automobile company famous for its luxurious cars. Apparently, Aston Martin is also interested in other tendencies on the market, especially electric cars. In fact, the company announced its intention to make an electric car already by 2019. In addition, Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer said in an interview that by about 2025 the company will to begin a transition to electricity-powered vehicles.
Of course, in the next few years, it will be impossible to completely eliminate internal combustion engines. However, in 5-7 years all Aston Martin cars will be hybrid, which means that they will also use the power of electricity apart from petrol.
The first fully electric car of the company will be the RapidE which will be released in a limited edition in 2019. The total number of cars will be about a hundred, so this exclusive novelty will probably be sold out on pre-orders to private collections. After all, there are many famous car enthusiasts who will be ready to pay the price.
Currently Aston Martin is cooperating with Daimler AG to buy engines and electronic components for its regular cars. However, all electric engines will be produced only by Aston Martin.
