The Russian Embassy in Beijing hosted the official presentation of the third generation of YotaPhone, made by Yota Devices. During the event, the company announced that the development of the device took 10 months, and more than 100 specialists from Russia and China contributed to its creation.
The key feature of YotaPhone 3 remained the same – the additional 5.2-inch E-Ink display on the back. The main display is Super AMOLED and has a 5.5-inch diagonal. The second display is designed for reading e-books or other information. That’s why, according to company’s representatives, the smartphone is aimed at people who like reading. In China, the smartphone will feature popular e-book reader services, like China Reading, iReader, Lebook and Migu.
The performance of the YotaPhone 3 is the responsibility of the Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. The amount of internal storage is 64 or 128 GB, depending on the version. Traditionally, there are two cameras on the smartphone: 13 and 12 MP.
Other characteristics of YotaPhone 3 include a 3 300 mAh battery, two SIM-card support and Android Nougat as a preinstalled operating system. Also, the images show that the smartphone doesn’t have a 3.5-mm headphone jack.
Initially, the device will go on sale in Chinaunder the name Yota 3. Later, it will appear in Russia and other countries but will be called YotaPhone 3. On September 5, Yota 3 will be available for pre-order and the actual sales start on September 18. In Russia and other countries, the smartphone will go on sale closer to the end of the year.
