Last year, Google released its own Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones. In the beginning of the sales, there were some problems but everything worked out well. Now, Google Pixels are considered to be one of the best Android smartphones on the market. Consequently, since early 2017, the Internet has become filled with rumours about the second generation of Pixel smartphone. Now, there is the first confirmation – Google is really working on new smartphones.
This became known after the specs of Google XL2 had appeared on the benchmark GFXBench. The main change in the new smartphone will most likely concern the design. The phone will get a 5.6-inch display with a resolution of 2560×1312 pixels. It means that Google XL2 will have an unusual 18:9 aspect ratio. The question whether Google will fit the smartphone with a frameless display or not remains unanswered.
Apart from that, some of the other specs include an 8-core processor (most likely Snapdragon 835), 4GB RAM, 128GB storage, 12MP main camera and NFC chip.
According to the latest rumours, Google will introduce this smartphone in September or October of this year.
