Earlier, there were a lot of rumours about Apple making their own TV. However, the rumours didn’t come true. Unlike Apple, Amazon didn’t give up on such a project and introduced today its first TV with built-in voice assistant Alexa.
New TVs are created in cooperation with Element Electronics. The screen size ranges from 43 to 65 inches with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. Also, the TVs come with a quad-core processor (clock speed – 1.1 GHz), 3GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage, Wi-Fi modules, Bluetooth 4.1, four HDMI connectors and USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports.
All TVs are fitted with a multifunctional remote control that provides quick access to popular streaming services, such as Netflix, HBO or Amazon Prime. Also, the remote activates the voice assistant Alexa.
As for the software platform, Amazon Fire TV 4K Ultra HD is based on Fire OS. New TVs will be available in mid-June. The “smallest”, 43-inch model will cost $450 while the widest, 65-inch one – $900.
