HTC finally made up its mind about the presentation date of its new flagship smartphone HTC U. The world will see the device on May, 16 and it will the third addition to the U line-up. Right now, HTC is sending out invitations to the upcoming event.
Earlier, the company published a video teaser on its official Twitter account. The video shows one very interesting thing – the side edges of HTC U will be touch-sensitive. That way, the company adds an additional way of operating the smartphone.
It’s hard to say whether it will be effective or not because this feature is completely new to the smartphone market. Theoretically, this technology can be comfortable as it gives users a faster access to some of the functions. What’s more, a famous insider Evan Blass already demonstrated how these edges work. In fact, they are sensitive to strong pressing, not to simple, gentle touches. It is sort of like 3D Touch, only built into the edges of the smartphone.
Other than that, HTC U boasts 5.5-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
