Are you tired of regular ways to take selfies and you want something a bit fancier? American startuppers can help you with that. They invented a very unusual smartphone accessory called SelFly. The main thing about it is it actually consists of two parts – the smartphone case and a built-in drone. When necessary, users can take it out, switch it up and let it fly. That way, it takes selfies from a more comfortable angle.
Despite having a drone on board, the gadget isn’t that bulky – it’s only 9m thick and easily fits in a jeans pocket. Apart from being a protective accessory for a smartphone, it can be used for selfies as we’ve said before. SelFly is fitted with an 8 MP camera. It’s actually very functional – it includes a stabilization system, recognizes faces and smiles, follows the user itself and streams video in FullHD resolution. The main issue is battery – it lasts for only 20 selfie séances or 5 minutes. Obviously, the whole controlling comes from the smartphone via the accompanying app.
SelFly is universal – it fits all smartphones with 4-6 inch screens. Plus, manufacturers plan to launch special editions for popular models, like iPhone or Samsung.
Right now, though, SelFly is successfully conquering Kickstarter, having already raised $156.000. Early birds can pre-order the gadget for $89 and wait until June for it to be shipped.
