Smartphone for True Music Lovers

Onkyo Granbeat
Onkyo in cooperation with Pioneer released a smartphone Granbeat oriented towards Hi-Fi sound lovers. This is a unique event because it is the first time when an audio acoustics brand launched a smartphone. Before that, JBL or Bang & Ofulsen worked with smartphone makers but only to bring in their technologies to mobile devices. This time, it’s all done by audio geniusee at Onkyo.

Obviously, Granbeat is packed with audio features. It has 3.5mm and 2.5mm headphone jacks, two amplifiers with a full balanced cycle and proprietary pre-installed sound programmes for controlling music. As a result, the smartphone supports 24-bit/384KHz audio and all kinds of music formats.

Apart from that, Granbeat has other interesting characteristics. The smartphone has a 5-inch FullHD display protected with Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood, there are Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor, 3GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. As on any other smartphone, there are two cameras: 16MP sensor from Sony on the back and 8 MP on the front. Granbeat is powered by a 3000mAh battery which lasts for about 25 hours of audio playback.

Granbeat smartphone is currently available only in Japan for $740. Unfortunately, there’s no information about the phone going on other global markets.
