Only a few weeks have passed since TCL has acquired Blackberry. But the famous smartphone isn’t dead at all. The idea that was realised in Blackberry smartphones is quite attractive. Therefore, just a before the end of 2016, the world received pretty exciting news – TCL is going to premiere their rendition of a Blackberry smartphone at CES 2017.
The rumours were confirmed by the President of TCL North America Steve Cistulli. He announced via Twitter that Blackberry smartphone will be showcased in Las Vegas. Other TCL representatives say that this phone will be the evolutionarily first smartphone in this area. TCL has already been involved into Blackberry devices manufacturing. The Chinese company was behind DTEK50 and DTEK60, so Blackberry smartphones can actually make a strong comeback to the market.
Any details and specifications are most likely to be unveiled at the CES itself. Blackberry claims that one more smartphone will be released soon, but the information is unclear. After that, Blackberry is definitively leaving the smartphone market, with intentions to focus on software and enterprise business. But the agreement between Blackberry and TCL means that the idea of the smartphone keeps living but only a limited number of companies will be able to make Blackberry phones.
