Since the release of the first Apple Watch, the company has been very secretive about its sales statistics, concealing exact numbers and talking only about general success of the device.
In reality, the situation isn’t so promising. According to the latest report from the IDC market research company, the sales of smart watches from Cupertino in June-September of 2016 droped to 71.6% compared to the same period in 2015. Despite that, the sales drop doesn’t seem to affect the position of Apple on the smart watch market: its market share reaches 41.3% which is much more compared to the next two companies on that list, Garmin and Samsung (20.5% and 14.4% respectively).
Such major fall in sales may relate to the general situation on the smart watch market – people became less interested in buying them because they don’t see any use for them. However, the experts at Apple say that the numbers are only temporary.
Obviously they’re hoping that the new Apple Watch Series will help them increase the sales.
